About the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense,
Research and Engineering (USD(R&E))
Science & Technology

The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Science & Technology (ASD, S&T)  sits at the forefront of technological innovation within the Department of Defense and leads the Department's work to create DoD's technology advantage. The vision of the ASD, S&T Office is to posture the R&D Enterprise to create far-reaching technology innovations and set them on a trajectory to create U.S. military technical advantage. To achieve this vision, S&T seeks to engage the brightest minds and most robust ideas from innovators across academia and industry.

To accelerate innovation and support new contributors to the S&T ecosystem, ASD, S&T entered into a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) with the Applied Research Institute (ARI) to facilitate the SciTechConnect program. ARI will be facilitating events, educational opportunities, workshops, mentorship programs, this online portal, and more to support people throughout their S&T journey.

Together, we can push the boundaries of research and development to advance defense innovation. By fostering collaboration between industry and academia, SciTechCONNECT will support the development of cutting-edge solutions that address the evolving challenges of national security.
